We recognise the importance of playing our part in helping those in our local community, and aligning ourselves with organisations that share our passion for improving the lives of others through the provision of adequate healthcare.
As an agency we are constantly exploring new initiatives, partnerships and agency-wide activities that enable us to achieve this vision ongoing, and below are three such actions we’ve taken in recent months.
SWM Partners’ has formalised a partnership with Medical Detection Dogs, whereby we provide donations, engage in volunteer days to support and gain knowledge of the services the charity provides, and raise awareness of the life saving work they do.
This UK-based charity trains dogs to detect the smell of human diseases such as cancer, Parkinson’s disease and bacterial infections, which is designed to enable early diagnosis.
The organisation also trains them to become Medical Alert Assistance Dogs (MAAD). These dogs give early warnings for medical emergencies, by smelling minor odour changes that are emitted in people with a range of conditions, so that they are alerted to take preventive actions.
We recognise that the rising cost of living is impacting us all to varying degrees, and this compelled our team to organise an agency-wide food bank donation initiative.
This sees team members donate a range of food products to local food banks, and we match these donations as a business. Our team delivered a range of non-perishable items to Chiltern Foodbank earlier this year, and the initiative now continues on a quarterly basis.
SWM Partners supports Happy Days Children’s Charity, who aid those who support children with additional needs throughout the UK.
This sees our team, along with colleagues from our sister agency, Sledge take time out from the office and project related work to get hands on and support a range of the charity’s initiatives.
Most recently, we visited Romans Field School in Milton Keynes to meet with students and build a sensory garden for them to enjoy.
